The Runwal Group is also amongst the former groups to have pioneered the post-sale property maintenance and management and thus, enjoy a long-standing association with the customer.
Having made a humble beginning with their first project in Thane, the Runwal Group today has developed more than 35 landmark projects with superlative housing solutions in suburbs like Chembur, Ghatkopar, Mulund and Thane and even Pune. It is well-known for its thoughtful planning, architectural excellence, abundant greenery, open spaces and latest amenities. Some of their key projects launched in the past include Runwal Pride, Runwal Infinity, Runwal Grand, Runwal Pearl, Runwal's Garden City, Runwal Heights, Runwal Grandeur, Runwal Square, R City Commercial, R Mall, Luxuria and Euphoria in Pune, Swastik Park, Subodh Park, Runwal Classique, Runwal Residency, Runwal Park, to name a few. Talking about the changes in the real estate industry, Sandeep Runwal says, "The sector has changed drastically. Earlier you could just build anything but now the focus of the market is highly
consumer driven. Earlier it was small projects, now we have mega projects. And the infrastructure requirements to sustain growth require tremendous planning to meet the gap. The customer too has become smart and aware."
Having transformed the real estate scenario in Mumbai with their people-oriented approach, Runwal Group was one of the pioneers to establish the concept of a Mall in India, by being the first to launch the highly successful R-Mall at Mulund followed by many other commercial landmarks. The newly launched R City mall at Ghatkopar is the most recent addition.
Mr. Sandeep Runwal, Chief Executive Officer, Runwal Group says, "Our plan is not to build just a shopping mall, but a landmark destination for the people of Mumbai and its visitors. The trend will now be towards creating regional shopping destinations. We have received an overwhelming response. This mall has been built with the involvement of experts brought in from across the world. We are very happy to present a very different and pathbreaking retail experience for all visitors, especially for the locals. By employing over 1000 people, it will also be a boost for local employment at various levels. The fact that we not only build the mall but also manage it, lends a continuity factor and an attraction for leading brands as tenants," he added.
The Runwal Group also aims at contributing positively to society and to social development. The Runwal family has instituted and is sustaining many educational and community welfare projects like, a college at Dhule (Maharashtra) and a high school serving 2000 children at Jalgaon. A massive rest house has been built in Chembur for the Jain community. A pathological laboratory at Ghatkopar, a special sanatorium at Malad for those undergoing treatment have also been built. A special Jain temple is also being built at Thane, where the family is also giving shape to a school project. The Group is soon starting a Jain Girls Hostel at Thane, with hostel facilities for around 80 girls.
The amount of planning and affordable rates is what the Runwal Group believes to be is their forte. His advice to buyers is that they should always check the reputation of the developer. "It is very important to study the track record of the builder before you buy into a project," he adds.
With a bagful of key projects on the anvil, the Runwal Group continues to serve the demand of the housing sector in Mumbai and slowly exploring the terrain beyond.
